What’s the Griffin King of the Hammers you ask??!

KOH started out in 2007 as little more than a couple of guys racin’ for braggin’ rights and pride.  Fast forward five years and it has evolved into a major, annual, off-road event, with thousands of spectators and almost a full week’s worth of associated activities.  The Griffin King of the Hammers is quickly becoming considered by many to be the Word’s toughest, one-day off-road race.  As was the original, entry is still by invitation only.  Those invites are earned through an almost year long series of “qualifiers” held at various off-road parks literally across the Country. (Check your local park to see if you can get a glimpse of the action.)

The main event is run in February, on ‘The Hammers‘ trail network in Johnson Valley, California.  It basically kick-starts the new year’s off-road racing and wheelin’ season.  Part high-speed desert racing, with rigs hitting well over 100 mph. Part rock crawling. Part rock racing. Part demolition derby. Part rig design showcase, testing and proving ground (IFS….whaaaaat??)  …and part “just the right, good king of crazy“…
